The bag contained some really large chunks and was straight-forward to get burning. I found it to be long lasting enough to cook enough food to feed a village and the intensity of the heat was good over a reasonable length of time. Additionally, there was virtually no flakey ash generated, so no risk of ash dislodging and attaching to your food as it cooks. Some care should be exercised with very fatty foods such as sausages and pork as the resultant fat will cause faster burning of the charcoal at a high temperature with a lot of flame, but anyone half competent should be able to factor this in.
